SCHOOL BOARD NEWS

We would like to welcome everyone back. As always the holiday season passes too quickly.   Now that the mid-terms have all been graded it’s time for Science Fair. Please join us on Sunday at the Valentino Center from 12 to 2 p.m. to view our children’s many hours of hard work. Science Fair also marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. There will be a primary open house on Tuesday the 29th from 9 to 11 a.m. On Wednesday, is the intermediate and junior high open house, also from 9 to 11 a.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to see your children in their “natural environment”. There will be an all school Mass on Friday.

Our Annual Dinner Dance and Auction marks the end of Catholic Schools Week. This is our largest fundraiser. It is a great way to unwind and socialize with other Vis families. Please check the dinner dance site under fundraisers for a sneak peek at the many items that are available in the silent auction. Raffle tickets for the beautiful holiday platters are on sale in the school lobby. Tickets for one year of FREE tuition are also available for $10.00.  There is still time to get table reservations, please contact Beth Bingham at 630-279-0878.

We would like to thank everyone who has sent in their annual fund contribution. We are already half way to our goal. If anyone is in need of additional envelopes, please contact the school office. Again, thank you for your continuous support.

The girl’s 5th and 6th grade basketball season is beginning soon. Check under athletics for the team’s schedule and help cheer them on to a winning season.
Art's Alive will begin rehearsing soon.  This year's production is "Annie get your Gun".  Show dates are April 10th thru the 12th.

It is hard to believe but Easter is coming soon. The school will celebrate Ash Wednesday on February 6th. They will begin stations of the Cross the following Wednesday, February 13th at 1:45p.m. Everyone is invited to participate.

If you haven’t already signed up for escript, please consider doing so. We are already receiving returns from those of you who have signed up. If you have any questions, please contact Margi Johnson. The paper recycling is also going very well. If we meet our goal of 12 tons of recycling by March 31st, we will receive a cash bonus. Turns out it is easy to be green.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone during the next few school events.

                                                                Thank  You,
