7TH GRADE NEWS

SCIENCE - We are moving along in our Human Biology book.  The students are currently working on the Respiratory System and the Excretory System.  From here we will move on to our chapter on Fighting Diseases and then The Nervous System.

ENGLISH - In English we are working on a persuasive writing piece where the students are choosing their own topic and conducting research which will help to develop their viewpoint. We are as always working on grammar throughout the writing process as well.

LITERATURE - We are currently working on short stories with an emphasis on plot development and character traits.  The students are reading different short stories and then comparing the plot elements and character traits between the stories.

MATH RED - Finish polynomials and factoring; Chapter Eight: Systems of Equations; Chapter Ten: Radicals.

MATH GREEN - Finish Pythagorean Theorem; Chapter 10: Linear equations and their graphs, transformations; Chapter 12: probability

SOCIAL STUDIES - Finish Chapter 16; events leading up to the Civil War; Chapter 17: Civil War; Chapter 18 Reconstruction. Power Point Review

RELIGION - Seventh grade students are creating presentations regarding the service work they have been doing throughout the year.  We will continue with activities that  help us reflect on Lent and how we can us the time to grow stronger in our commitment as Christians.  We are exploring the beatitudes as a guide to the values we strive for.
