Saxon Math - Lessons 11-20 will be covered which includes daily Math fact timings and/or word problems. Daily review of class notes is expected. Prentice Math - We sill study integer rules and also have daily Math fact timings and/or word problems. Daily review of class notes is expected.
Science - We are still working in our Environmental Science book where the students are studying the different biomes. Students are working in groups to research a particular biome and then will present their findings to the class along with a visual representation. We will begin our talks of Science Fair very soon...start thinking of some good experiments you may like to try!
SOCIAL STUDIES - We will conclude our study of geography and world cultures and begin the examination of the physical geography of the U.S. and Canada in Unit 2.
LANGUAGE ARTS - We will be starting our Poetry unit where each student will create many different kinds of poems. We will also be beginning our new theme of "What Really Happened?" In English we are continuing our study of Nouns and Personal Narratives. The students will soon begin writing a personal narrative on a time when they felt courageous.
RELIGION - During the month of October, we will pray a decade of the Rosary each day. Chapters 3 and 4 will be covered which includes a study of Saint Paul and his commitment to Jesus and the Church.
