2ND GRADE NEWS

RELIGION: We will be learning about and saying the Rosary. We'll begin preparing for our First Reconciliation with Unit 2 in our texts. We will also do a special project to learn more about our patron saints.
LANGUAGE ARTS: We'll begin Theme 2 "Nature Walk". This is a great time of the year for this theme. It includes fiction and non-fiction selections. Our skill lessons will include comparing and contrasting, identifying fact and opinion, and using a map to find information. Spelling skills will include more long vowel patterns, consonant clusters, and double consonants.
MATH: We will continue working on facts and problem solving. We will also work on geometric shapes, attributes, telling time to the half hour, fractional parts (halves, fourths, eighths). We'll continue organizing information into various types of graphs.
